So you want to insist that a person "found guilty" (which is what 
"convicted" means) of a felony (which is what a "felon" is convicted of) 
isn't actually convicted until sentencing, do you?

Then would you explain how this makes sense:

Trump has had his pre-sentence interview for that department to prepare 
his Pre-Sentence Investigation.

If Trump isn't convicted yet, how does that happen?
