Science.
1. Mann predicted as many as 40 named North Atlantic storms for this hurricane season.
2. More than half-way through the season, we've had 5.
3. We could still get some strong storms, but we're not getting 40 named storms.
4. If you imagine yourself to be a scientist, your predictions must pan out. That is not the case here.

They didn't need the actual storms. They just wanted the predictions they can hype for a few media cycles.
That same media will ignore the failed prediction.
His estimate range is 26 - 40 named storms. He thought the wide error estimate +/- 7 would save him and make
him look smart. Mann is maintaining his "Disgrace to the Profession" reputation.
Let's not forget how they salivated over the first one of the season how "early" it came and how they amped
up the Fear Porn on every newscast.
