I would call that an internal problem for India to deal with. The Sikhs
had been pushing for autonomy and were becoming increasingly violent.
The Indian army stormed thee Golden Temple a Sikh holy place had housed
too many fighters and weapons to warrant protection as a house of
worship. PM Ghandi was murdered by her Sikh body guards and there were a
couple bombs on Air India planes.

Things got a little out of hand. It appears that a lot of violence
rained down on the Sikhs in response to their violence.
