Subject: Gaetz Allegations Part of A Witch Hunt Against Trump's Loyalists

In February 2023, the DOJ closed a sex trafficking investigation into Matt Gaetz without filing any charges, despite years of scrutiny.
Gaetz's attorneys confirmed that the probe, which began in 2020, ended with no legal action.
Fast forward to late 2024, when Rep. Gaetz resigned from Congress after Trump nominated him for Attorney General in November.
Trump's decision to appoint Gaetz, citing his dedication to ending "weaponized government," reignited political opposition and scrutiny of Gaetz's
past.
Facing fierce backlash, Gaetz withdrew his nomination on November 21 to avoid a contentious confirmation process and allow Trump's administration to
focus on "Day 1 readiness."
But now, the House Ethics Committee report that was released yesterday accuses Gaetz of paying for sex with a 17-year-old girl and using drugs,
citing payments totaling $90,000 to multiple women.
The timing has raised questions: if the DOJ couldn't build a case after a 3-year investigation that ended without charges, why are these allegations
surfacing so strongly after Gaetz's nomination by Trump?
Gaetz denies the allegations:
"These claims are completely false. I have never paid for sex, nor engaged in illegal drug use. This is a smear campaign."
Notably, Christopher Dorworth, named in the report, has demanded retractions for what his legal counsel calls "demonstrably false" claims.
According to Dorworth's lawyer:
1.There's no evidence Gaetz invited anyone to Dorworth's home.
2.Dorworth was never confronted with cell phone records as alleged.
3.Dorworth's legal team provided exculpatory evidence that the report ignored.
Dorworth's lawyer accused the Committee of making absurd assumptions:
"This report should be retracted immediately."
If the DOJ couldn't substantiate these claims with years of investigation, are these allegations credible-or politically motivated retaliation for
Trump's nomination of
@Mattgaetz
