Ironically, the predictions of the fresh water crisis have nearly
come true, but for all the wrong reasons. The Maldives have
suffered from a case of over development and increased tourism.
This has lead to a water crunch during major storms.
I know India had to bail them out once.
Oo! And there was also an Indian military base! So that also
puts a strain on resources as limited as you find on islands...
But, yeah, TONS of fresh investment money, lots of development
but they're still above water.
