No, I guess they didn't. But the 2023 Cowboy State Daily article does
say (immediately above the picture):
'The Harris Ranch Tesla Supercharger station is an impressive beast.
With 98 charging bays, the facility in Coalinga, California, is the
largest charging station in the world. But to provide that kind of power
takes something solar canât provide â diesel generators.'

Not for comprehension, obviously.

Except the station they show didn't exist when Niedermeyer says he found
a SINGLE generator (which was clearly powering the two temporary
Superchargers they'd set up next to it).

I'm calling him wrong and guilty of very sloppy journalism at best.
His Slate article mentions generators, but the video he took (in 2015)
shows a single generator, which he acknowledges in the description of
that video.

Nope. Because the whole station those batteries are for wasn't there in
2015 when there was a single generator used to power a couple of
temporarily set up Superchargers

Again. Singular generator in 2015; 8 years before the station referenced
by the CSD article even existed.

Temporary, and related to the Harris Ranch Supercharger station situated
650 feet away to the northeast.
In 2015, the site of the station the CSD article references was a vacant
lot used to park trucks.

The generator was "there" for some brief period around May of 2015.
It was not there in 2022 when Niedermeyer wrote his Slate article.
It was not there in 2023 when the CSD article came out.
The station the CSD article writes about was an empty lot in 2015.
