They "see" what they WANT to see and reply to that.
Alan "Rich Boy Ski Bunny" Baker does it all the time. He doesn't like what he
reads, which is the topic, so he'll pick some bullshit minutiae in the
article that he THINKS he can use as an argument and WIN!
He simply doesn't have a refutation, so, to make sure he can still try and
show, in HIS mind only, his superiority, he changes the topic.
