May 5 is Red Dress Day, also known as
Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women Awareness Day.

From google:

"Red Dress Day is held annually on May 5 to raise awareness of Missing and
Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and Two-Spirit+ people in Canada and remind
all residents that each person has a role to play in ending violence."

It is also Cinco de Mayo and the exact halfway point
between the spring equinox and summer solstice.

Since it is still late on May 4 here, note that May 4
is Mayday for Mutts and Star Wars Day
(May the Fourth be with you).
