So let's recap:

You said: "Neither of those numbers are anywhere near the original claim 
which was yet another media lie."

But it wasn't the "original claim", it was a subsequent claim.

You claimed the number came from NPR.

It didn't.

It came from a right-wing source and was well supported at that source 
by figures from the Bureau of Labor Statistics...

'Driven primarily by a 5.9-percent increase in the index for eggs, the 
index for meats, poultry, fish, and eggs rose 1.3 percent in March.'
