Facing looming tariffs, British aerospace firm Rolls-Royce drafts plans to increase American production and workforce to maintain
U.S. market access.

Rolls-Royce is preparing to increase its manufacturing footprint in the United States in response to tariffs imposed by President
Donald Trump, according to a report by The Daily Telegraph. The British aerospace and defense company is reportedly finalizing
contingency plans aimed at mitigating the impact of trade restrictions by relocating production from countries targeted by
Trump's tariffs, including China, Canada, and Mexico.

A source quoted by the British publication noted, "If you are making something in countries like China, then you'll be looking at
whether you can do it in the US instead." Rolls-Royce is also considering shifting operations from the United Kingdom and other
parts of Europe should tariffs extend to those regions, potentially threatening the firm's manufacturing hubs there.

In a communication to shareholders, Rolls-Royce warned that trade restrictions "could lead to increased costs and consequently
realign the global supply chain." The company added, "Market exposures are being monitored, and we are adapting supply chain
strategies to ensure resilience amid potential protectionist measures and evolving trade dynamics."

The U.S. market is pivotal for Rolls-Royce, accounting for nearly a third of its total global revenue. Major American clients
include the U.S. Department of Defense, Boeing, and Lockheed Martin. In 2024, the company earned £5.94 billion ($7.67 billion)
from its North American operations, significantly surpassing revenue from its UK (£2.6 billion/$3.36 billion) and European (£6.5
billion/$8.4 billion) divisions.

Acknowledging the importance of the American market, a Rolls-Royce spokesperson said, "We have additional capacity within some of
our U.S. operations and continuously seek to explore options to ensure that our global internal supply chain is optimised for
delivery to customers in the U.S."

The potential expansion aligns with President Trump's broader strategy to rebalance global trade and repatriate manufacturing
jobs to the United States. Trump has announced that "fair and reciprocal" tariffs will take effect on April 2, a date he has
referred to as "Liberation Day." Speaking about the tariffs, Trump stated last week, "We're getting back to some of the wealth
that very, very foolish presidents gave away because they had no clue what they were doing."

The Trump administration's trade policy has already spurred major firms such as Apple, Oracle, and Taiwan Semiconductor
Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) to announce substantial investments in U.S. manufacturing. Additionally, several car manufacturers,
including Honda, Hyundai, Kia, and Audi, are reportedly evaluating similar moves to avoid tariff-related costs by relocating
production to American soil.

"Trump Derangement Syndrome" Is a Real Mental Condition

All you need to know about "Trump Derangement Syndrome," or TDS.

"Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) is a mental condition in which a person has been driven effectively insane due to their dislike
of Donald Trump, to the point at which they will abandon all logic and reason."

Justin Raimondo, the editorial director of Antiwar.com, wrote a piece in the Los Angeles Times in 2016 that broke TDS down into
three distinct phases or stages:

"In the first stage of the disease, victims lose all sense of proportion. The president-elect's every tweet provokes a firestorm,
as if 140 characters were all it took to change the world."

"The mid-level stages of TDS have a profound effect on the victim's vocabulary: Sufferers speak a distinctive language consisting
solely of hyperbole."

"As TDS progresses, the afflicted lose the ability to distinguish fantasy from reality."

The Point here is simple: TDS is, in the eyes of its adherents, the knee-jerk opposition from liberals to anything and everything
Trump does. If Trump announced he was donating every dollar he's ever made, TDS sufferers would suggest he was up to something
nefarious, according to the logic of TDS. There's nothing - not. one. thing. - that Trump could do or say that would be received
positively by TDSers.

The history of Trump Derangement Syndrome actually goes back to the early 2000s - a time when the idea of Trump as president was
a punch line for late-night comics and nothing more.

Wikipedia traces its roots to "Bush Derangement Syndrome" - a term first coined by the late conservative columnist Charles
Krauthammer back in 2003. The condition, as Krauthammer defined it, was "the acute onset of paranoia in otherwise normal people
in reaction to the policies, the presidency - nay - the very existence of George W. Bush."
