The app is working in ways the author didn't intend.
Laughter!
"Unlike many of my conservative friends, I thought that CNN's
reporting did not cross the line--it was news that anti-ICE activists
were helping criminals evade law enforcement, but I agreed that the
tone of the reporting suggested that this was just normal, in the way
that "mostly peaceful" riots are.
But a funny thing happened--one that I doubt that CNN or others
anticipated after the virtual advertisement CNN did for the app:
pro-ICE activists found a way to use the crowdfunding app to clear
their neighborhoods and various locations elsewhere of illegal aliens:
they started reporting ICE activity at the sort of places where
illegal aliens like to hang out.
At the very least, this renders the app pretty useless for its
intended purpose--how does one know if the report is about real ICE
activity or a fake? At the other end of the spectrum, it accomplishes
the goal of clearing the streets of illegal aliens by making them
worry that ICE agents are in the area.
