Why weren't you?

Just because you're smart enough to do something, doesn't mean you WANT to do it.

I was happy doing what I did.

Were you?

By today's "standards", I made "A"s in A&P, so if I hadn't been doing what I skilled at doing, becoming a doctor was plausible, but
there's no way I wanted to be one.

I didn't hate A&P, but I didn't want to SEE A&P.

WHY would I want to be a doctor? I did what I loved to do, and that was enough for me.

We ALL could probably have BEEN doctors, if we wanted to.

So, I'll ask again... why weren't you?

Mar 2, 2025 - If I have a black female surgeon, my first assumption will be this person had to meet lower standards because the
school or the certifying board was so anxious to say we have a black female surgeon and of course it's unfair to the individual but
then the whole system is unfair. So should you be shocked that it produces unfair results? No.

These schools, KNOWN FOR THEIR LOWER STANDARDS, are the kinds of institutions that LCME was founded in 1942 to police and prevent.
Patients of such doctors tend to have higher mortality rates than those of physicians who attended medical school in the United
States. Without the constraints imposed by LCME, more qualified doctors would be available.
