Yes, it is illegal, but IMO it is unprofessional to take a job while
eight months pregnant (unless the need for money is desperate, but such
people don't usually have careers which allow maternity leave).
My company folded while I was pregnant. I didn't even look for another
job until after I'd delivered. Another approach is to look and to give a
realistic date of availability, instead of pretending immediate
availabity when you don't really have it.
I'm sure some would disagree.
