The thing is that this is a transition that is actually looking to be 
quite significant.

Certainly, as things stand right now, electrically-powered aircraft 
can't replace conventional aircraft in many roles, but as an air taxi, 
the Jobycraft (they should name it this, and I'm thinking very strongly 
about registering the domain if they haven't already 😋) will:

Be able to operate out of everywhere helicopters are operated today.

Fly faster.

Fly more cheaply.

Do it far, FAR more quietly.

And if they can work out hydrogen fuel cells, even the range will end up 
matching that of helicopters with similar capacity (Bell 505 range: 
306nm with no reserve; prototype Joby S4 with cryogenic hydrogen fuel 
cell: 454nm).

My only regret is that I didn't buy the stock when it dipped after the 
IPO...
