Nope!  You're trying to draw a line with only one data point, which is a 
logical fallacy failure on your part.

And because you don't have the data point as to what student performance 
would have been without the DoE, you can't connect your line.

Case in point:

Because 40 years ago, my first college roommate took remedials too: 
you've failed to show that students are worse today than in the past.

And that you've made such an obvious logical failure shows that your own 
education sucked from back then too.
