So... name this farmer whose wife worked at the VA and lost his farm because
of tariffs.
No one, in the history of America, has ever lost their job, because of any
other reason than tariffs, like poor performance or cut-backs in a bad
economy?
No one, in the history of America, has ever lost their farm, because of any
other reason than tariffs, like poor management?
Nope.
Just ONE example, so as not to waste any time on you faggots who conveniently
always forget the past when it suits your narrative.
From October 1, 2013 to October 17, 2013, the United States federal government
entered a shutdown and curtailed most routine operations because neither
legislation appropriating funds for the fiscal year 2014 nor a continuing
resolution for the interim authorization of appropriations for fiscal year
2014 was enacted in time. Regular government operations resumed October 17
after an interim appropriations bill was signed into law.
During the shutdown, APPROXIMATELY 800,000 FEDERAL EMPLOYEES WERE INDEFINITELY
FURLOUGHED, AND ANOTHER 1.3 MILLION WERE REQUIRED TO REPORT TO WORK WITHOUT
KNOWN PAYMENT DATES.
2009:
Overview of 2009 Layoffs at the VA
In 2009, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) implemented layoffs, and the
federal workforce faced challenges during that period. The Obama
administration focused on stabilizing the economy and modernizing the federal
workforce.
Employment Trends
Federal Workforce Size: The total number of federal employees decreased from
approximately 4.4 million to 4.18 million during the Obama administration,
marking a 6% drop.
Pay Freezes: Federal employees experienced pay freezes, which contributed to
dissatisfaction among workers but did not lead to mass layoffs.
2010:
Overview of Government Layoffs in 2010
In 2010, the U.S. economy experienced significant government layoffs,
contributing to a net loss of jobs. The total number of government jobs lost
was substantial, particularly in local governments.
Key Statistics
Category: Number of Jobs Lost
Total Government Jobs Lost159,000
Local Government Jobs Lost76,000
Temporary Federal Census Jobs77,000
State Government Jobs Lost7,000
Impact on Employment
The unemployment rate remained high at 9.6% for September 2010, marking 14
consecutive months above 9.5%.
The private sector added only 64,000 jobs, indicating weak hiring amidst
government cuts.
The layoffs were primarily due to budget constraints faced by state and local
governments, which were required to balance their budgets.
Economic Context
The layoffs reflected the ongoing effects of the recession, which had begun in
2007. Falling property values led to decreased tax revenues, forcing cuts in
government services and employment. The overall economic growth was slow, at
just 3% since the recession ended in June 2009, which was significantly lower
than typical recovery rates.
These factors combined to create a challenging job market, with many
individuals facing prolonged unemployment or underemployment.
Wanna me go to 2011-2016?
Ya... didn't think so.

"Trump Derangement Syndrome" Is a Real Mental Condition
All you need to know about "Trump Derangement Syndrome," or TDS.
"Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) is a mental condition in which a person has
been driven effectively insane due to their dislike of Donald Trump, to the
point at which they will abandon all logic and reason."
Justin Raimondo, the editorial director of Antiwar.com, wrote a piece in the
Los Angeles Times in 2016 that broke TDS down into three distinct phases or
stages:
"In the first stage of the disease, victims lose all sense of proportion. The
president-elect's every tweet provokes a firestorm, as if 140 characters were
all it took to change the world."
"The mid-level stages of TDS have a profound effect on the victim's
vocabulary: Sufferers speak a distinctive language consisting solely of
hyperbole."
"As TDS progresses, the afflicted lose the ability to distinguish fantasy from
reality."
The Point here is simple: TDS is, in the eyes of its adherents, the knee-jerk
opposition from liberals to anything and everything Trump does. If Trump
announced he was donating every dollar he's ever made, TDS sufferers would
suggest he was up to something nefarious, according to the logic of TDS.
There's nothing - not. one. thing. - that Trump could do or say that would be
received positively by TDSers.
The history of Trump Derangement Syndrome actually goes back to the early
2000s - a time when the idea of Trump as president was a punch line for late-
night comics and nothing more.
Wikipedia traces its roots to "Bush Derangement Syndrome" - a term first
coined by the late conservative columnist Charles Krauthammer back in 2003.
The condition, as Krauthammer defined it, was "the acute onset of paranoia in
otherwise normal people in reaction to the policies, the presidency - nay -
the very existence of George W. Bush."
