Then, came the F6F Hellcat and F4U Corsair and put the Zero's dicks in the
dirt... literally. The Zero couldn't fly, climb or dive as fast as those two,
so they got dominated, especially when the Zero's pilots thought the F6Fs were
F4F Wildcats.
The Hellcat would start climbing and the Zeros would follow, thinking it was
an F4F, and that it would stall sooner. Nope. The Zeros stalled and the
Hellcats would rudder over and kill them easily.
The Jap Ki's were no pushovers either.
The Shokis, Hyabusas and Hiens were good, just not real fast and no armor. The
radial-engined Hien (Ki-100) was a bad ass too.
By the time the Reppu, Hayate, and Raiden came around, which were better
fighters than the American's, it was too late.
