Yes.
Clauser is making arguments about the semantic scope of "climate change":
what the term constitutes has political implications that do not make for
good science. "Climate Change" may well NOT cause extreme weather events
because the scope of these ideas and their relationship has not been
adequately articulated to begin with. Its the kind of argument someone
familiar with quantum mechanics would offer about "Climate Science"
which *is* a political football of somekind but it is unclear whether
this is a spherical, oblong or triangular "ball" so there's arguement
over what *kind* of game it belongs to.
