Nuclear power, before "Alternatives," was obscenely pricey. It was the
most ridiculously over priced energy source on the planet, with all
the safeties, the regulations and dealing with waste. There were
virtually no plants built in like 30 years, or very few anyway, and
it would still be that way if it weren't for alternatives.
...if you could turn back the clock to the 1970s, tell all the
whole "Earth Day" crowd, the people PROTESTING nuclear plants that
within two generation the youth, the leftists would make them cheap
and desirable...
About the only way to make a nuclear plant even MORE expensive than
it started out would be to close down a plant before the end of it's
lifespan.

Maybe they should STOP fucking over the United States, end 100% of all
their tariffs & "Regulations" imposed on American companies, and then
Trump would sell them all the market-priced natural gas they want.
Or coal for that matter.
