Oh, yes, let's take a look at that and see how asinine you "solution" is.
US/Mexico border is 1,954 miles.
You'd need 6,878 machine gun nests
- manned 24/7/365 - minimm 3 crews/day of at least 3 troops = 62,000 just
for the machine guns.
- then logistics - food, water, weather, sanitation, etc. You're looking
at half million manpower support for those machine guns.
- and just setting a gun and throwing a few sandbags isn't going to do
it. you'll need more permanent buildings - how much are those going to
cost.
- There's a lot of rough country there - every 500 yards would be a
border like swiss cheese - you might look at 500 FEET instead of yards -
so triple all that manpower and expense.
- and then there's the fact that most of the land on both sides of the
border are privately owned - how much is it going to cost to buy that
land, build roads, etc?
All for what? Killing women and children fleeing rape, murder and
starvation in their home countries? Isn't shooting up a public school,
killing teachers and kids enough for you?
And, again, Biden asked for more money for border enforcement agents,
tRump and his Repugs/Cultists REFUSED to give more money for border
enforcment.
