Here is just misreporting and fabrication of data. This is area burned of the 
lower 48 in the United States.

They started their data in 1983 but had data going back to 1926. Is the area 
burned increasing slightly? Yes, but they declined to show that the burned area 
in the lower 48 today is 20% of what it was 80 and 90 years ago.
